Eternal Families

I know that the family is of God. I know that the family can be eternal and through the gospel of Jesus Christ, it will last. I know that God gave us families to help us through the challenges of life and that they can be the best friends that we will have. I am so grateful for the amazing family that I have been given and for all that they do for me.

Lesson: The Eternal Family (32)

Scripture:

“But from the beginning of the creation God made them male and female. For this cause shall a man leave his father and mother, and cleave to his wife; And they twain shall be one flesh: so then they are no more twain, but one flesh. What therefore God hath joined together, let not man put asunder” (Mark 10: 6–9).

Lesson:

Start by asking, Why do we have eternal families? What makes a family eternal? Talk about the family unit, start with Adam and Eve and talk about how they were married and were told to have children. This created an eternal family. We have nad eternal family. There is a mom and dad who were sealed to each other in the temple then baby Wynne was born already sealed to them. Talk about temples: What are temples? Why do we have them? Temples are places where we go to make covenants with Heavenly Father. Mom and Dad went to the temple years ago and made covenants with God and with each other saying they will be together forever.

Activities:

Make a blanket as a family. Have quilting squares or fabric that can be used to make a small snuggle blanket. As you sew them together as a family, talk about how the first two pieces are like mom and dad being sealed in the temple and as you add pieces it’s like the children. The child can than keep the snuggle as a reminder that their family is eternal.

Always Dating

When I first heard the idea of always dating your spouse, I thought it was so dumb, don't you get married so you don't have to date...
