Family History

I love my family and I want to support them. I think that Family history is one way I can better do this. Elder Holland has promised that we will not loose our children if we all do family history. I think that being drawn closer to our history and our family can help give us an eternal perspective on life and why we are doing what we are doing. I am grateful for technology that allows me to do my family history form the comfort of my bed. I love my family and I love that I can be a missionary to them.

Lesson: Supporting Family Across Generations (17)

Lesson: 

Do you like it when mom and dad share with you? If I buy ice cream, isn't it nice when I dish a bowl for you and let you have some too.

Why do we do family history? In the chapter it says "Hastening family history and temple work in our day is essential for the salvation and exaltation of families."  We do family history to help our ancestors have the opportunity to receive the gospel and gain eternal life. Just like the ice cream I share with you, we need to share the gospel with our ancestors and we do this through family history and temple work. How can we help our ancestors? (make a list of things we can do better this week to do family history work and report back next week.)

Activities:

Share a story and pictures about an ancestor. Look on Family Search at our family tree and see if there are any little temples that pop up for temple work.
