Fatherhood is a great role that most men have the opportunity to fulfill. A father's involvement is an essential part to the development of a child, physically and emotionally. According to "The Family: A Proclamation to the World", the fathers rolls are to preside, provide and protect. My father has been a great example in my life. I love him dearly and wish I hadn’t taken him for granted like I had when I was younger. I have learned so much from him and know I will be learning from him the rest of my life. I am so grateful that I was given my dad, I don’t think that I would be even remotely where I am without his guidance and counsel. My husband is also an amazing father and he has grown so much in his new role as our daughter grows. I love My Heavenly Father and I know he loves me.

Lesson:
Fathers are important in a family. Mom and dad are partners “By divine design, fathers are to preside over their families in love and righteousness.” What is the role of a father? Fathers are asked to preside, provide and protect their families, what does that mean? Videos. We have an Earthly father and a Heavenly Father and we need to show both of them love and gratitude for what they have done for us. How can we do that?

Activities:
Have a “dad” night (do what dad likes). For us this would be getting snow cones and playing board games together.
Think of ways we can show Heavenly Father we love him as well and talk about it through the week (pray, love others, give to others, etc).
